Growing up in Denver, the one thing that Jeff never experienced was the ocean. Jeff moved to Venice, CA in 1999 and within weeks he was on a board learning how to surf. 

After having knee surgery late in 2014, Jeff's surfing was put on hiatus but he couldn't stand the thought of not getting out in the waves. Inspired by the work of other ocean/wave photographers such as Clark Little, he grabbed his camera on a whim one day and starting shooting. 

Jeff still lives in the Venice area with his wife and 2 kids. Although he was eventually able to get back on his board and ride the waves, he found a new way of being inspired by the ocean and continues to shoot as often as he can.
